I’m Alive Again and Restarting with a New Blog

Right now there’s only an introduction post and an about page. ¬†I’ll try to get the first non-intro post out by Christmas. Hopefully I won’t die after a year this time! ūüôā

As for this blog, it will remain open for the other authors (heartspan who hasn’t posted anything yet + miharu if/when she comes back to blogging). Also,¬†if I want to write something that I feel doesn’t fit in the new blog, I’ll post it here. I don’t know if this decision makes sense, but it feels right for me. And feelings > logic amirite?

That’s it.¬†If there are any readers hehe, thank you very much for reading my bad posts and I hope you follow my new blog~ ^_^

Waremete is a Wonder

[Ohys-Senketsu] Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete - 06 [720p].mkv_snapshot_10.53_[2014.11.09_11.06.00]

That’s right. I am traced CGI.

Ushinawareta Mirai wo Motomete had lots of bad animation and non-animation right from the get-go. You can even see how most are badly traced CGI. It was decent episode 3 onwards, with only occasional failings, but the damage was done.

There’s a reason why many series debuts¬†with higher visual quality than what it will have for the rest of its run. A significant amount of viewers get turned off by anything ugly. And production schedules usually aren’t messed up yet at the beginning.

Volume 1 sold a measly 400+ BD/DVDs in its first week. Whether its quality animation had anything to do with it failing commercially or not, no one can say for sure. I just wanted to mention its animation failures to open the post.

Yes, this title wasn’t watched a lot. And yes, I liked it very much. So let me¬†dedicate a short post¬†about it in the pretext that I’m¬†doing¬†this because it didn’t sell and it deserves¬†more love (because love is making a blog post about it). Continue reading

My Favorite Animation Short Film (Maybe)

I first saw it years ago and it instantly planted itself into my memory. It really showed things that can only be done, or at least are best done, with animation. And it did so with execution I’d like to call perfect.¬†It’s really something special.

I am a bit saddened¬†that some (I hope they’re not very many) people seem to not get it. I don’t think it’s particularly hard to understand. A lot of things¬†point to the most important fact that those people seem to have missed.¬†Oh, and that title’s also a giveaway.

BTW, I made¬†my twitter account¬†recently. Follow me if you don’t hate me. My twitter’s lonely. ūüė¶ But¬†that’s probably because I just followed a few people and never started convos and almost never interacted with internet anipeople lol
